Chief Ward has been serving as Chief of Police for Alexandria since 2002. He was instrumental in getting the police department KCAP State Accredited in 2002 & 2007. He was appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Board in 2004 and was named the 2009 Police Chief of the year by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police.
LTC. Alexander has been a police officer for 30 years and serves as the police department’s State Accreditation Manager, Firearms Range Instructor and SWAT Team Commander.
Lieutenant Wittrock has been a police officer for over 26 years. He is the Commander of the Patrol Division. He also serves as the supervisor of the VIPS program, Explorer Post and has served as the Sniper Team Leader.
Lieutenant Schreiner has been a police officer for 21 years. He serves as the Property Control Officer, is on the Major Accident Reconstruction Team, Teen Driver Instructor and serves as the Media Relations Officer.
Sgt. Frodge has been a police officer since 1982. He has served in the position of detective with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, is a teen driving instructor, RAD Instructor and is a member of the Special Operation Group.
School Resource Officer James P. Sticklen "AKA" Stumpy
Officer Jim Sticklen has been in law enforcement since 1986. He serves as a School Resource Officer. He also serves as the department’s community relations officer, and is a crisis negotiator.
Officer Tara Howard is our newest police officer and was hired by the Alexandria Police Department in July 2009. Officer Howard has four years of experience in law enforcement.
Detective Tim Vinson has been a police officer for 11 years. Det. Vinson is trained as an instructor in RAD, Firearms and Teen Driving. He is a member of the department's pistol team and Special Operation's Group.

Patrol Mark Branham
Officer Mark Branham has served the Alexandria Police Department since 2002. Officer Branham is a member of the police department’s Special Operations Group.

Investigations Howard Trapnell
Investigator Trapnell serves the department as the CID supervisor and VIPS coordinator. Investigator Trapnell is as Certified Polygraph Examiner and is certified as Marijuana Examiner for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Patrol Lucas Cooper
Officer Lucas Cooper was hired by the Alexandria Police Department in September of 2006. Officer Cooper is a member of the Special Operations Goup and also serves as the lead Explorer Scout Advisor.

Patrol Natalie Jackson
Officer Natalie Jackson has nine years of law enforcement experience and serves on the Sexual Assault Response team, is trained R.A.D. instructor and serves as the department's R.A.D. corrdinator.

Office Manager Melinda Grizzell
Melinda Grizzell came to the Alexandria Police Department as a part-time police clerk obtaining full-time employment in July of 1998. Melinda serves as the office manager and oversees the records within the police department.

Police Clerk Mary Morscher
Mary Morscher has been serving on the city’s administrative staff since 1996. Mary currently serves as a police clerk, assisting with the administrative duties which include proof-reading and grammar check, entering reports and managing the front desks.
Lisa Childers is our most recent addition to the administrative staff of our department. Lisa has over 18 years of experience working with a police department and city administration.
