Requirements
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s License. Applicants must also have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Successfully pass a rigorous back ground investigation.
- Have no felony convictions.
- Have no misdemeanor convictions within five years of filing an application and have no convictions for Domestic Violence or other assault related offenses.
- Possess competent written/verbal English skills.
- Successfully complete the Alexandria Police Department’s VIPS Academy.
- Attend a monthly team meeting.
- Attend a monthly VIPS training meeting.
- Perform 16 hours of volunteer duty each month.
- Be in good physical condition and present a physician-signed medical waiver.
