Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s License. Applicants must also have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Successfully pass a rigorous back ground investigation.
• Have no felony convictions.
• Have no misdemeanor convictions within five years of filing an application and have no convictions for Domestic Violence or other assault related offenses.
• Possess competent written/verbal English skills.
• Successfully complete the Alexandria Police Department’s VIPS Academy.
• Attend a monthly team meeting.
• Attend a monthly VIPS training meeting.
• Perform 16 hours of volunteer duty each month.
• Be in good physical condition and present a physician-signed medical waiver.
